Zea Engine 3.11.0 and Zea CAD 3.3.1 Released

We are happy to announce the release of Zea Engine 3.11.0. This release include one feature and a collection of fixes. Zea CAD 3.3.1 was also released with a few important new features.

  • Zea Engine can now be loaded using bundlers such as Webpack and Rollup.
  • Zea CAD now supports loading assemblies containing references to external parts and sub-assemblies. This loading can be controlled by the developer allowing on the fly configuration of large complex assemblies.

A live demo of this can be seen here:
https://docs.zea.live/zea-cad-viewer/BOM.html?BOM=/data/BOM1.json

Interaction with the sample Bill Of Materials (BOM) in the bottom of the screen is synchronized with the 3d rendering provided by the zea-cad-viewer.

The trailer is made up of many individual part zcad files which are loaded by a root assembly zcad file. You can see the collection of all the zcad files here:
[SolidworksTrailer] (zea-cad-viewer/docs/data/SolidworksTrailor at main · ZeaInc/zea-cad-viewer · GitHub)

This approach scales to very large complex assemblies made up of thousands of part files.

For this release, the ‘plugins’ file is no longer being built and should be removed from your script tags.

The plugins are now bundled into the engine library and so the plugins tag should be simply removed
